The Battle of Echo Canyon Book Cover

Prompt: An illustration to serve as the cover for an independent story.

My grandfather wrote a whimsical cowboy book and asked me to illustrate the cover. It’s really fulfilling to be able to help the people I love by doing what I love.

He had very specific ideas about the cover’s imagery and I worked within this parameters make a balanced composition. I used watercolors to create the western landscape and hand-lettered the text for a rustic appearance. The two characters on the cover are the primary protagonists in the story.
